Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)
Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), or Trenchless Construction is used to allow pipelines to be installed under obstacles such as highways, waterways or environmentally sensitive areas with minimal or no disruption to the use of the object being crossed.
This application will provide the user with an estimate of the amount of pipe and length of the HDD. The user supplies the width of the obstacle, the minimum depth required to clear the obstacle and the pipe properties.
The application will calculate the minimum bending radius of the pipe, the total length of pipe, the distance between the entry and exit points and the total depth.
This application will provide an estimate of the physical parameters of an HDD crossing and does not eliminate the need for detailed engineering of the crossing.
